# JCI and Korean hospital credentials

> JCI’s international record concerns its named program and facilities; Korean legal procedures retain their separate records.

Choose the credential and compare the source fields that identify the institution, scope and period.

## Who issues JCI accreditation?

Joint Commission International is the named international issuing organization.

Its About Us describes it as independent and not-for-profit. Preserve that issuer rather than relabelling the mark as a Korean ministry award.

**Credential, authority and scope**

| Credential | Body | Scope |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Domestic accreditation | MOHW; delegated work by KOIHA | Quality and patient-safety standards |
| KAHF | MOHW / KHIDI / KOIHA | Foreign-patient service and patient-safety systems |
| Recruitment registration | Competent provincial or metropolitan governor | Registration requirements |
| JCI | Joint Commission International | Named program and listed facilities |

## Which directory covers JCI accreditation in Korea?

Use the international directory and its South Korea filter.

The same site links a separate United States domestic search. Choose the route matching the international program before interpreting results.

## Which program does JCI accreditation cover?

Match the original program or certification name to the brochure claim.

The program field identifies scope. Omitted program details remain unanswered; they should not be filled using a clinical area that only appears similar.

## Which facility does JCI accreditation identify?

Read the organization with the facilities and locations listed by the source.

A shared brand does not identify every branch. Keep an unmatched location distinct and ask the issuing body about that facility.

## How are JCI accreditation dates read?

Keep Effective Date and decision labels rather than deriving an unstated expiry.

No universal current JCI term is applied here. A stated end date can be compared as an entered date without turning that comparison into a current-status decision.

## Does JCI accreditation replace Korean procedures?

Opening, domestic accreditation and recruitment registration have their own Korean provisions.

Their records should be checked through the appropriate Korean authority. An international record cannot supply missing results from those separate procedures.

## What if JCI accreditation results cannot be read?

Leave the result unresolved at the checking time and use the original issuing-body route.

An unavailable page view is different from a matched record stating a decision. Preserve what was actually readable and the remaining question.

**Fields to compare with an official record**

| Field | Question |
| --- | --- |
| Scheme and issuer | Which assessment or registration? |
| Name, type and location | Which institution or facility? |
| Grade or decision | What result is stated? |
| Stated period and checking date | Which period and observation? |
