Korea hospital accreditation date comparison
A stated end date takes priority; every result describes dates rather than the institution’s current legal status.
Use the result to identify the relevant source question. Inputs do not establish a hospital’s current accreditation or registration.

Inputs and selections are processed only on this screen.
Your selections, institution labels and dates are processed in this screen’s memory only. They are not sent or saved. Official links open the issuing body’s website.
Enter the stated end date. A start date alone can show a calendar illustration only for domestic accreditation or KAHF.
Cancellation, mark suspension, registration changes or reassessment can affect a record. This result alone does not establish current accreditation or registration.
Search the full name and relevant type; compare location, grade and certificate dates.
No local current institution register is available.
Which rules guide accreditation date comparison?
Domestic accreditation and KAHF use 4-year and 1-year terms under separate provisions.
Choose both scheme and grade. A conditional award must not use the ordinary four-year interval.
Choose the scheme and grade named by the certificate. Domestic and KAHF conditional accreditation use the one-year rule, while the ordinary accredited terms use four years. A starting date without a grade does not establish which duration belongs to the document.
Recruitment registration has an ordinary three-year term but also renewal rules. JCI’s program term is not assigned here. The selector therefore distinguishes these categories instead of supplying one number of years for every document that uses the word accredited or registered.
| Credential | Body | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic accreditation | MOHW; delegated work by KOIHA | Quality and patient-safety standards |
| KAHF | MOHW / KHIDI / KOIHA | Foreign-patient service and patient-safety systems |
| Recruitment registration | Competent provincial or metropolitan governor | Registration requirements |
| JCI | Joint Commission International | Named program and listed facilities |
Which value wins in accreditation date comparison?
A valid stated end date takes priority over a starting-date illustration.
An explicit end can be compared without a start. If both are supplied, the end must not precede the start.
Use the end date actually written on the document when available. A complete end date can be compared even if the start is not entered. If both are entered, the ordering check identifies an end before the start as an input problem, not as a finding about the institution.
The comparison date is the date against which you want to read the interval. It is separate from the source-review date printed under the tool. The latter tells you when scheme facts were read, while the former is your chosen date for this particular comparison.
What is the accreditation date comparison illustration?
The displayed convention adds calendar years and subtracts one day as a reference calculation.
It does not establish the issuer’s actual expiry convention or a particular certificate. The actual stated period remains the source.
For a domestic or KAHF start-only entry, the reference convention is shown with its calculation. Adding calendar years and subtracting one day produces an illustration, not a verified legal expiry convention or a certificate issued to the institution.
Leap dates and year boundaries are checked as calendar inputs. An impossible date is rejected instead of being carried silently into another month. Even a correctly formed illustration cannot determine whether a later certificate, cancellation or mark-suspension decision changed the relevant award.
Why does accreditation date comparison not infer registration expiry?
Article 14(5) includes KAHF deemed-renewal and period-ceiling rules.
The ordinary three-year term cannot resolve all records from the first starting date. Use the stated registration end date.
Article 14(5) treats the relevant KAHF award date as deemed recruitment-registration renewal. The same paragraph sets a period ceiling connected to the award’s term and excludes conditional accreditation from that ceiling. Both statements need to be retained.
The first registration starting date therefore cannot resolve every later record. Enter the stated registration end date after checking the relevant document. If it is not available, the tool returns the source question rather than selecting a longer or shorter interval on the institution’s behalf.
Why does accreditation date comparison not assign a JCI term?
No universal current JCI period was verified for the programs covered.
Read the international directory’s program, decision and date labels. Effective Date is not converted into a missing expiry.
The JCI directory’s program, facility and decision identify the international claim. Its Effective Date should retain its original label; a missing expiry is not produced by attaching a Korean statutory term to that field.
If an international certificate explicitly supplies an end date, it can be entered as a stated value. The result then describes the chosen dates only. It does not authenticate the document, determine program scope or establish that a facility remains included in a current international award.
How does accreditation date comparison handle invalid input?
Invalid dates and reversed periods return an explanation without a calculated end.
The comparison date is required when a period value is supplied. Calendar rollover, including impossible leap dates, is rejected.
Use complete dates for the entered period and the comparison. The supported date range is displayed by the input controls. A blank period produces no guessed result, and a reversed interval returns an explanation associated with the end-date field.
An invalid field is identified separately from a valid one. Correct the document value rather than changing a date merely to obtain a result. A successful calculation establishes only that the inputs form a usable date comparison; it does not validate the source from which the dates were copied.
Does accreditation date comparison decide current effect?
It only states whether the comparison date is before, on or after the entered or illustrated end.
Cancellation, mark suspension and later awards need official records. No universal thirty-day reminder is invented.
Before, on and after describe the comparison date’s relationship to the entered or illustrated end. They do not become labels such as legally operating, accredited or unaccredited. A source decision can affect an award independently of the arithmetic relationship.
Keep the original scheme, institution details, stated dates and checking date if you need to ask the issuer about the result. The verified sources do not provide a universal thirty-day recheck rule, so no automatic reminder date is presented as an official recommendation. If the stated date differs from the illustration, compare the original field rather than changing inputs to remove the difference.
| Field | Question |
|---|---|
| Scheme and issuer | Which assessment or registration? |
| Name, type and location | Which institution or facility? |
| Grade or decision | What result is stated? |
| Stated period and checking date | Which period and observation? |
What are the limits of this tool?
- Entered dates are not verified certificate data.
- Calendar illustrations do not establish current effect.
- Registration and JCI require stated periods and source records.
Original scope, dates and limits remain attached to each source. Missing evidence is not replaced by assumptions.
